Swaparooni update
I was uploading pictures of my most recent swaparooni loot, and realized I never posted the last one!
Here is my swap from May...my swap partner was Karolienkie and she did such a great job. The theme was Spring Flowers. The colors are bright, and I'm using most of the stuff!
This month was another Local Swap, and divamom set me up! She is from Vermont, and I got some really yummy chocolate, including the Ben and Jerry's chocolate Cows....yummy! There were also some office supply items, noteboks, and very pretty notecards. It came on a day that I absolutely needed the pick me up, and it provided that!

I'll Trade You
Do you have kids? Have you been looking for ways to help them learn how wonderful the internet is? How people you have never met in real life can become great friends? Well, we have a swap for them. Sign ups are going on now for the I'll Trade You Swap group over on Flickr. It doesn't require a large amount of funds. The suggested minimum is $10. My kiddos participated in the Book Swap this summer, and they found it great fun. It forced them to look at some genres they might not have otherwise. Interested? Let me know. You have to be approved, to help maintain privacy for the kids.

Getting ready for Christmas already
Today begins the sign up for the Color Me Happy Swaparooni's Ornament Swap over on flickr. This is a great group, but it's by referral only. So if you want to join, someone in the group has to know you and refer you. Do I haunt your blog? Have you commented here? I could probably sponsor you then :)

In addition to this, we're working on Christmas ornaments for the unit. Guess it's going to get me in the mood.

Local Love
Sign ups are going on now for the newest swap in the Color Me Happy Swaparooni over on Flickr. This is a great group of women, and the swaps are always interesting. It's a good way to meet new people in the blogosphere that you might not normally hear about, and to learn more about these people than you might otherwise be able to. And shopping for someone is fun, especially knowing something is going to come your way that is just as cool.
Read all the rules before you sign up. You won't be sorry you joined!

I'll Trade You
The SmockLady has created a new swap group over at Flickr called I'll Trade You. This is a bit different as it is a swap for our children. Children of any age can swap, and it is a private group. This means you have to request to join and then be accepted. You sign the kids up, Smock Lady
The first swap was for books. I entered only PB and the Monster, since Bug wasn't going to be back in time. I took them shopping and we purchased a book and activity book for each of their partners, and they will be going out in the mail Tomorrow.
PB received her book a week or two ago, but I didn't let her open it until today. She would have been allowed to open it last week, but she didn't do what I asked her to do for her swap buddy, and then she was leaving to go camping and wouldn't appreciate it. So, on the counter it's sat. It was a beautiful little package, covered in stickers.
When she opened it today, wow! What a great pair of books, and a sweet little fairy bookmark to match. PB's little swap partner did a great job. (I don't want to post names here, but I will link to her mama...thanks FrazzledMama!)

Spoiled for Summer
I've had a hectic, not so good day. And I came home to find an adorable box of goodies from my swap buddy! I was so excited to see what the box held.

Color Me Happy
I posted about the tote bag swap I participated in here. Happily, my swap partner finally received her bag that I created for her. I was a little nervous...I couldn't find the perfect material, but was finally able to find some that made me happy. I learned a few things about making bags, and as usual, the parts I thought would be tricky weren't and the parts I thought would be easy weren't. But all in all, I'm happy with the results. The stripey material is carried over in a band inside, and with the large zippered pouch pocket inside. There's also a "patch" pocket for easy access to a few goodies. I chose not to put any type of actual closure, thinking that she could access the things inside with one hand on the baby a little easier if she didn't have to unhook it, and the messenger flap seemed to stay pretty secure.
All in all, I'm quite happy with the results. I was nervous about trying a bag, as it was only my second time. I'm glad she likes it.

Organized? I wish
I love office and organizational supplies. Do they have a group for those of us addicted to these things? Well, at least I know that I'm not alone. Organization is the subject of this months Color Me Happy Swaparooni.
I was about to post a little bit to my likes/dislikes on the Flickr group when I found some great links from OMSH. SeeJaneWork may be one of my new favorites. So many cute things. I love this doorganizer. What a great way to be sure you get all those important little things in the morning. The Eat Sheet and The Balance Sheet are both great ideas. KidLists...I've been trying to make sure the kidlins get their stuff together in the mornings. Trying to keep the checkbook balanced and all of those receipts in one place? Notebooks, clips, markers, little containers for stuff. Oh yeah, it's all there, and all so lovely.
Want to join our swaparooni? Head on over and read the guidelines. And any contributions to my supply fund will be greatly appreciated :)
